FDOT to Discuss River Road Widening Project This Thursday at Open House
All of the Details of the FDOT’s plans for the widening of River Road in Venice, between Interstate 75 and U.S. 41 will be available from the Florida Department of Transportation at a public open house this Thursday, January 27th 2021.
Construction for River Road will cost approximately $47 Million. , As it will be widened to four lanes north of Center Road and six lanes between Center Road and U.S 41.
The public meeting will be 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. this Thursday at the Englewood Sports Complex, 1300 River Road, in Englewood.
The construction is tentatively set to start this spring.
The project calls for River Road to be elevated to or above the 100-year flood line.
The roadway will include a raised median, curbs and a 10-foot wide multi-use recreational path on each side of the road.
People wishing to attend the Thursday meeting live are asked to pre-register, so DOT officials can set up the room to allow for COVID-19 related social distancing protocols. Masks are optional.
