New Publix Could be Coming to Jacaranda Blvd. & Laurel Rd.
A new Publix could be coming to the North Venice area. Neal Communities has plans to bring a Publix-anchored shopping center to 11.8 acres of its Milano planned unit development, at the southwest corner of Jacaranda Boulevard and Laurel Road.
Neal Communities hosted a Zoom Neighborhood Workshop on Thursday, January 6th, 2022 for residents of the Venetian Golf & River Club, which is directly across Laurel Road from the proposed site.
Venice Planning & Zoning , has not yet seen an application filed of the possible construction project.
The two closest Publix stores to the new proposed site are: 2.5 miles away, at the intersection of Pinebrook and Laurel roads. The other nearby Publix is at Jacaranda Boulevard and Venice Avenue, that is 2.8 miles away.
There is pan to widen Laurel Road from the Interstate to Jacaranda Blvd. to four lanes. There is also a . planned traffic light at Jacaranda Boulevard and Laurel Road.
