Sarasota is Ranked #1 best place to retire, for the 2nd time in a month
A couple of weeks ago, US News & World Report, had Sarasota ranked #1… Now
WalletHub, which ranked the best places to retire in Florida, also has Sarasota #1 … rated several points higher than Fort Myers, which came in 2nd… . Other cities in the top five were Boca Raton, Miami and Orlando
Bradenton came in at #11 and South Bradenton came in at #16 (n ot exactly sure, where that is... Whitfield?... lol) ....and … North Port was #36
WalletHub compared 120 Florida cities using 29 metrics to determine an area's quality of life, health and activities available to residents. Those three criteria were given equal weight in determining a final grade.
According to the analysis, Sarasota ranked first or tied for first for most fishing activities per capita, most health care options per capita and reported the lowest average daily COVID-19 cases in the previous week on a per capital basis.
WalletHub ranks Florida as the best state to retire. Part of that ranking is due to costs, but also the plethora of both indoor and outdoor activities. There's also the fact that Florida does not have a state income tax.
