Turning Points and its partners are hosting a Veterans Services Event
Turning Points and its partners will be hosting the Manatee County Stand Down on Nov 6th 2021.
Over the last year, Turning Points has helped 400 veterans; 137 were living on the streets.
The Manatee County Stand Down will be held Saturday, November 6 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Manatee County Fairgrounds, at 1303 27th Street West, Palmetto, FL.
The Stand Down focuses on helping homeless and potentially homeless veterans and their families but also helps non-veterans and their families receive critical needs services.
Stand Down focuses on helping veterans and non-veterans who on on the brink of homelessness or are experiencing homelessness to receive critical needs services. Anyone who comes to Stand Down receives services that day. Plus there is live music, food, fun, and great camaraderie all morning!
These services include:
Amnesty Court (only for Veterans)
Veterans Services
General and Mental Health Screenings (including flu and COVID vaccines)
Dental Screenings
Eye Exams
Career Assistance
Lunch
Distribution of Hygiene Products
Clothing Distribution
Haircuts
Florida ID/Drivers License (only for Veterans)
Raffles
AND More!
The Open Door Band will be performing all morning.
Veterans Amnesty Court will be at Stand Down too!
Veterans Amnesty Court can assist with:
- Unpaid court fees/fines (closed cases)
- Unpaid traffic fines/fees
- Driver's license assistance
Veterans Amnesty Court is for veterans ONLY.
Remember, ALL VETERANS and NON-VETERANS can attend and receive services at Stand Down and registration is not needed for that.
