A New airline is coming to Sarasota Bradenton International Airport
Avelo Airlines will begin service on January 13th with 3 flights per week to New Haven, Conn.
It will become the 11th airline and the 51st nonstop destination at SRQ. Three years ago, the airport had just 6 airlines and 12 nonstop destinations.
The flights to New Haven will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
The Tuesday flight will depart SRQ at 5:50 p.m. arriving in New Haven at 8:40 p.m, and the Thursday and Sunday flights will depart SRQ at 7:45 p.m. and arrive in New Haven at 10:35 p.m.
The airline offers fares as low as $49 from Sarasota Bradenton International Airport to the Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN).
Avelo Airlines operates in five other Florida cities, with the SRQ joining Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando, Palm Beach and Tampa.
Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport has shattered its previous passenger record, of just over 2 million passengers, set way back in 1990. SRQ expects to serve more than 3 million passengers by the end of 2021.
