There is Public meeting being held for Piney Point Injection Well
The Public meeting will be to provide more information about the project to clean up Piney Point.
The Department of Environmental Protection will be taking comments on the Draft Permit on an Underground Injection Well that will enable to closure of the Piney Point Facility.
The DEP said in a statement, "DEP is committed to protecting Floridians and our state's natural resources and ensuring the state's environmental laws are followed.
DEP will not issue any permit that is not protective of Florida's environment and does not meet all requirements of Florida law."
Some environmental groups have objections to the injection well plan.
The meeting will be held from 4pm to 7pm Wednesday, October 6th, 2021 at the Manatee County Central library.
