Florida Man Uses His Garbage Can to Catch an Alligator in His Front Yard

Florida Man Uses His Garbage Can to Catch an Alligator in His Front Yard

Eugene Bozzi who lives in Mount Dora, heard an interesting noise. It was an alligator, in the front of his house. To try and keep everyone safe, he grabbed his garbage can to try and scoop him up.. After a few attempts he was successful, then he wheeled the garbage bin down to a nearby lake and released the alligator into the water. The gator moved fast to get away.

Officers with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) showed afterwards up to talk to Mr. Bozzi, since he isn't registered to trap alligators, he could have been charged, to trapped the gator.

The FWC decided not to cite him for capturing the alligator. However, they want to remind anyone, that has a similar encounter, to leave this type of thing to the professionals. If you see an alligator, in what may be a dangerous situation, you are asked to call their Alligator Hotline.

People with concerns about an alligator should call FWC's toll-free Nuisance Alligator Hotline at 866-FWC-GATOR (866-392-4286), and FWC will dispatch a contracted nuisance alligator trapper to resolve the situation.
