Sarasota County "Emergency Rental Assistance Program" Has Money Available
The Sarasota County Emergency Rental Assistance Program reached the landmark of disbursing $1 million dollars to community members impacted by COVID-19 on Friday, July 23.
As of 8 a.m. Thursday, July 29, 180 households have been paid, totaling $1,095,284.00. There are 691 applications submitted to the Emergency Rental Assistance Program.
The ERAP Call Center has answered 4,185 calls total since applications launched.
The ERAP team recently added additional review staff to assist with the multiple-step review process.
This review process works to detect and eliminate possible fraudulent or suspicious applications prior to reaching the final funding steps.
