Sarasota & Manatee County Set Records for Tourism in April & May this Year
The Number of People Visiting Sarasota and Manatee Counties is up Over 30% this Spring and Summer - With Virtually No International Travelers
Sarasota County had 155,100 visitors in May 2021, which is an increase of nearly 34% when compared to the same month in 2019, this according to data provided by Visit Sarasota County.
Hotel occupancy was at 78% in May, compared to 64.5% two years ago, and the average daily room rate increased to $213.51 from $165.74 in May 2019.
These numbers mean, this was the best May in Sarasota County tourism history
In Manatee County there were 83,400 visitors in April, the most recent month for which data is available, this according to data provided by the Bradenton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. That's an increase of 31% over 2019. The hotel occupancy was 11% higher at 83.1%.
