Amazon Opening New Warehouse Facility in Manatee County, Bringing Jobs

This facility will be very similar to the distribution center that opened at 770 Commerce Drive (just off 75 and Jacaranda Blvd.) in Venice last August.
This new Manatee County warehouse will be a "last-mile facility":, these locations, are also known as the last place packages go before they hit the customer’s front door.
Amazon refers to centers like this internally as "delivery stations."
Amazon did not say how large the new Manatee County facility will be, however, the new Venice facility, which is also "a last-mile center", is 111,000 square feet.
Amazon expects the Manatee County facility to be open in time for the holiday shopping season.
Amazon, says the Manatee County facility will employ "hundreds" of full and part time workers with a starting wage of $15 per hour.
