Sea Turtle Gets Stuck on Beach Stairs Looking to Lay Eggs on Manasota Key
Local volunteers came to the rescue of a sea turtle that found herself stuck on a beach staircase, as she was looking for a place to lay eggs, while on Manasota Key.
The Coastal Wildlife Club says the female loggerhead sea turtle got stuck while searching for a place to nest on the beach this past Monday morning (6/21/21).
The club, monitors sea turtle nests on Manasota Key, has counted over 2,000 loggerhead nests in the area so far in 2021.
