Burnett "Burnie" Sutter a WWII Veteran who Stormed the Beaches of Normandy, Recently Celebrated his 100th Birthday with 100-Vehicle Parade in Texas
The city of Frisco, Texas, celebrated the birthday of one of their oldest residents with a 100-vehicle parade.
Burnett "Burnie" Sutter turned 100 years old, 2 weeks ago on April 7th.
Burnie… is a WWII veteran, a grandfather of three and the great-grandfather of eight.
However, he Is so much more than that.
He landed on Utah Beach in Normandy with the 90th Infantry Division under General George S. Patton. He was a machine gunner in the 358th M Company.
He fought in many of the major battles across France and Germany, including the battles at Seves Island and Falaise Gap. He was part of Operation Cobra and the Moselle River Crossing.
Including on April 23, 1945, when he was part of the American forces that liberated the Flossenburg Concentration Camp
His family said his memories are now fading, but … days like this Birthday Parade… help keep his memory and sacrifices to his country alive.
