ALERT: Manatee County Schools Suspends Some Bus Routes Near Piney Point Area
The issue at the old Piney Point phosphate plant, has now forced the Manatee County School District to temporarily halt several school bus routes, to a number of schools.
State and local officials have declared a state of emergency and ordered hundreds of homes to be evacuated over concerns of the possible collapse of stacks of waste at the plant.
Starting Today (4/5/21), some school bus routes from the evacuation zone will be suspended until the evacuation order is lifted.
