Since coming to the Suncoast, Southwest Airlines Has Seen a Huge Demand at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport , Now Adding More Flights and More Destinations
Southwest Airlines, announced yesterday (3/25/21) that it will begin serving Dallas and Grand Rapids, Michigan, from SRQ airport starting this June.
The new Nonstop service to Love Field Airport in Dallas and the Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids is scheduled to begin June 12 and to begin, will run on Saturdays only (as of now)..
Southwest also said, due to demand… they are increasing their daily service to Chicago Midway International Airport to twice per day, Sundays through Fridays, starting May 9th.
That same day, May 9th…
Southwest will also increase its seasonal service to Columbus, Ohio, Pittsburgh and Indianapolis, from Saturdays only… Now making those flights, available five times a week, running Thursday through Monday.
Southwest is now… the second airline at Sarasota-Bradenton to serve the Dallas and Grand Rapids areas.
Southwest launched it’s flights from Sarasota-Bradenton, this past Valentine's Day, with just 4 destinations.
Those flights, included: Baltimore, Houston, Nashville, and Chicago ... they began on February 14th, 2021...
Then Southwest announced, seasonal service to Columbus, Indianapolis and Pittsburgh, as well as year-round flights to Atlanta, which began in mid-March 2021.
In addition, Southwest Airlines will also begin flights to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on April 17th.
Since that time, they have been rapidly expanding their flights from SRQ.
