Manatee County Schools Providing Free Meals TODAY and ALL This Week to Kids for Spring Break
Manatee County Schools are providing FREE FOOD for Teens and kids within Manatee County this spring break through a program administered by the School District of Manatee County.
School district buses will deliver meals to nine locations throughout the district beginning TODAY, Monday, March 15th through this Friday, March 19th.
The School District will also offer drive-up or walk-up locations at Buffalo Creek Middle School and King Middle School.
The program is not based on income, and the district will provide meals to all children in Manatee County who are age 18 and younger.
The effort is a part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Child and Adult Care Feeding Program, and is funded through the Florida Department of Health.
Regina Thoma, The Director of Food & Nutrition Services for the Manatee School District, told Lulu and I, last week, all about this great program. "This program is designed to ensure that children have access to nutrition during the time when school meals are not available," ...
