5-Year old Boy w/Cancer Made Honorary Deputy by Manatee Co Sheriff’s Office

Five-year-old Jeremiah, is like a lot of us and especially kids, he has a love for our first responders. He says he hopes to become a police officer or sheriff’s deputy one day.

However, last year, Jeremiah was diagnosed with neurobalstoma, a cancer that develops from immature nerve cells.

When they heard about this little warrior, The Manatee County Sheriff's Office, in cooperation with the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation, made him an honorary deputy this week with MCSO. .

Jeremiah got to meet Manatee County Sheriff Rick Wells and deputies as well as other team members from various units including the K-9s, and he even even had the opportunity to climb inside the Manatee County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team’s BearCat armored vehicle.

Jeremiah, is now… also as an ambassador for the Foundation. He along with the deputies will also be featured at National Pediatric Cancer Foundation’s – Sarasota/Manatee - Fashion Funds the Cure fundraising event, happening Saturday, March 6th at the University Town Center mall.

Lulu and I are honored to once again volunteer to be the emcee’s for this wonderful event. Where kids battling cancer are teamed up with mentors for careers they want to pursue when they get older..
