US Olympic Rowing Trials Coming to Nathan Benderson Park This Month
After a delay to the pandemic... The US Olympic Trials are coming to our beautiful area. In fact, more than 120 athletes, in 93 different boats are scheduled to race in Sarasota during the five-day U.S. rowing Olympic trials event scheduled for February. 22nd-26th.
The Olympic trial racing will open with time trials on Monday, February 22nd. Heats will take place on Tuesday, February 23rd, with more racing taking place on Wednesday, February 23rd.
Thursday, February 24th will feature the semifinals, with finals taking place on Friday, February 26th. Racing is scheduled to start at 8 a.m. each day.
Due to Covid-19, there will be no spectators allowed on the island at Nathan Benderson Park.

The 2020 Olympic Games are now scheduled to be held in Tokyo, Japan from July 23rd-August. 9th, with rowing events slated to start on the morning of July 23rd.
The Paralympic Games are scheduled to take place in Tokyo from August 24th-September 5th, with the paralympic rowing events starting on August 27th.
