Seniors “Will Soon” Be Able to Get COVID-19 Vaccines at Publix, Winn-Dixie Locations in Manatee & Sarasota Counties
The CDC says, that beginning as soon as possibly, this Thursday (2/11/21), select retail pharmacies across the country will begin administering the COVID-19 vaccine as part of the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program.
The State of Florida is expected to receive an estimated 65,300 doses of the Moderna vaccine for 490 Publix, Winn-Dixie and Walmart/ Sam’s Club pharmacies throughout the state, Florida Department of Health officials announced.
In our area... The locations will include 17 Publix pharmacies and one Winn-Dixie pharmacy in Manatee County.
Exact addresses for the Manatee County pharmacies to receive vaccine were not provided, but include locations in Bradenton, Palmetto, Parrish and Lakewood Ranch.
The exact numbers and locations, in Sarasota County were not known, as of yet.
Currently, Publix stores in 23 of Florida’s 67 counties, have already been vaccinating seniors. However, that program has not been open in Manatee or Sarasota counties... until now.
On their respective websites both, Publix and Winn-Dixie have information about how to make appointments… for when vaccines are available.
Both Publix and Winn Dixie will be updating their websites daily, when "new" Vaccine Pharmacy locations are added, to this program.
