A Romantic Valentine’s Day Dinner at Waffle House? You Can in Punta Gorda!
It's true... Yes, the Punta Gorda Waffle House is one of more than 200 around the country that are offering special romantic meals this year.
Waffle House has been a Valentine’s Day destination for tasteful, discriminating lovers for more than a decade now. Hosting a special night at the restaurant for couples.
It goes back to 2008, that is when the tradition began at the Waffle House in John’s Creek, Georgia, just a little northeast of Atlanta. At that location, local couples would come there to celebrate Valentine’s Day. That's when that manager decided to then begin offering a special evening, by doing things like: putting out white tablecloths and adding candles.
This special event is indeed special, as not every Waffle House location participates in the Valentine's Day event. promotion. However, there are more than 200 restaurants around the USA that will be accepting Valentine’s Day reservations.
Sadly, there are none in Sarasota or Manatee counties.... there is though, a locations, just a short drive away that is.... the Punta Gorda Waffle House is "in" for the Valentine’s Day event.
Dave Robbins, is the general manager of the Punta Gorda restaurant,. The tables at his location will be decorated with black tablecloths and napkins and... the lights will also be dimmed. T
he dinner menu is $20, with your choice of a T-bone steak, a pork chop or a chicken entrée, plus bread, a salad and a waffle dessert.
If you have been to a Waffle House, you know the restaurant does not have a liquor license, however... you will receive a complimentary flute of sparkling grape juice.
There will also be photo booth set up for you, so you can remember your romantic night. All Waffle House restaurants will maintain their normal Covid-19 safety protocols, which include Plexiglass partitions between booths and hourly sanitizing procedures.
So far... about 20 reservations have already been made, and the team at the Punta Gorda Waffle House, expect the rest of the openings to fill up between now and Valentine’s Day.
The Punta Gorda Waffle House is one of only seven in Florida that are hosting special Valentine’s Day meals.
