Sarasota County's New Vaccine Appointment System Goes LIVE at Noon Today

Sarasota County's New Vaccine Appointment System Goes LIVE at Noon Today, with a Phone Number and Website as Options to Register

Sarasota County’s new registration system for the COVID vaccine goes live at noon Today (1/20/21) and remains active thereafter. Just in time, has Sarasota County will start setting appointments to distribute 3,300 doses the county received this week.

This new system in Sarasota County, is now similar to Manatee County, which allows residents to pre-register for an account either by phone or online.

However, unlike Manatee County, which is using a random lottery-style system, Sarasota’s appointment system is first come, first serve.

The link for people to register for the new site will be available on the Florida Department of Health Sarasota County’s website – sarasotahealth.org – starting at Noon today (1/20/21)

There also will be links on the county’s social media pages and in a text alert for those signed up to get COVID alerts.

Those without access to or uncomfortable with technology can call 941-861-8297 to get their name into the registration system.

Tomorrow and Friday (1/21/21 & 1/22/21) Sarasota county is holding a drive-thru Vaccination clinic at Twin Lakes Parks, off Clark Rd, to administer the 3,300 doses it received this week.

In Manatee County...

Manatee County has received 3,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and will also begin making calls today (1/20/21) to set up vaccination appointments for Thursday and Friday (1/21/21 & 1/22/121).

Manatee County says that 600 doses of its allotment, this week will go to health care workers.

The other 2,400 doses will be administered to people 65 and older at Bennett Park in Bradenton, in a drive thru

Manatee County 311 operators have begun booking people for the appointments, that have been randomly selecting from its existing stand-by pool of pre-registered people

Manatee allows residents to pre-register for a spot in the pool and then.... when the vaccine becomes available, they randomly picks who gets an appointment.

Manatee County officials ask that residents whose name is in the pool... to not to call 311 to see if they’ve been selected. Instead, they ask people to keep their eyes peeled for a call from 941-742-4300.

To get on that list in Manatee County, simply call 311... or go online at: www.MyManatee.org
