Sarasota Just Named #1 Best Place to Retire in America by US News & World Report
The roads are going to get busier after this....
Our paradise came in #1... Sarasota came in first place, then followed by fellow Florida cities: Fort Myers, Port St. Lucie, and Naples,. In fact after our town, the other three cities, made the top four locations, all from Florida.
Also, Sarasota and Fort Myers which dominated the list last year, swapped first and second places in the latest survey. The huge appeal of both Sarasota and Naples, also has them both ranked them in the top 25 in “Best Places to Live in the U.S.” as well as Best Places to Retire.
In terms of our town, it states..... Sarasota’s beaches, parks, cultural attractions, shops, and restaurants make it popular with visitors as well as residents. The area attracted circus impresario John Ringling in the early 1900’s, and in 1924 he began building an elegant seaside winter residence, Ca’ d'Zan, which he modeled after the Doges Palace in Venice. Today, the estate is a stunning museum, art collection, and circus exhibit that delights guests.
