Another Roundabout Coming to Sarasota at Entrance of Ringling Bridge
The Public is Invited to a Meeting About U.S. 41-Gulfstream Avenue Roundabout
Pre-construction work could begin as early as January 2021.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a virtual meeting at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16, to provide the local community with an overview of the upcoming U.S. 41-Gulfstream Avenue roundabout construction project, which could begin as early as January.
Pre-construction work includes surveying the area and building a bypass road adjacent to the bayfront where the Unconditional Surrender statue currently stands. The statue will be relocated., along the Sarasota Bayfront, near O'Leary's Tiki Bar or Marina Jack
According to FDOT, lane closures and the actual roundabout construction will begin after season in early April.
