Army Veteran Mylee Cardenas from Tampa, Survived Afghanistan & also Beat Cancer, Now She Has a New Home
Army Staff Sergeant Mylee Cardenas and her daughter received the keys to their beautiful, mortgage-free forever home in Lutz, FL!
Sergeant Cardenas made up her mind to join the military following the September 11th terrorist attacks, citing her anger and devastation over what happened and her desire to serve and give back.
Shortly after arriving in Afghanistan in November of 2011, SSgt Cardenas felt a lump on her chest, but decided not to seek medical attention because she did not want to abandon her fellow servicemen and women and their mission. She completed her deployment and it wasn't until she returned home months later when she received a diagnosis that she had Stage 3 breast cancer.
