City of Venice Mask Mandate Will End October 31st and Not be Renewed
The ordinance will expire at 11:59 p.m. Oct. 31st, 2020.
The resolution was voted on without discussion, after one Venice City Council member, Mitzie Fielder, changed her earlier vote in favor of the ordinance. She now joins Vice Mayor Chuck Newsom and Council members Joe Neunder and Nick Pachota who also voted against the mask ordinance.
Local bossiness can still require customers to wear masks, before entering their business, if they choose.
Also, masks may be required to attend "special events" in the city, as part of the permit and application and approval process.
