Jake Owen Shows His Grandparents Love Story In Extended ‘Homemade’ Video

Jake Owen's Video for his song "Homemade" is nominated for a 2020 CMA Award for "Best Music Video".

I hadn't seen it before and didn't realize he made two versions... a short version... and an extended version featuring his Grand Parents, who have been married 71 years.

Owen’s actual grandparents, Bryan Yancey Owen and Jean Martin, get to share how their tale unfolds as the narrators in the extended 14-minute video.

The video depicts the couple’s love story, from seeing each other for the very first time, to trading sweet love letters, to being pulled apart for reasons beyond their control.

At the 6:22 mark, it’s revealed the lovebirds became separated due to the WWII draft.

However, the love they shared is so strong they reunited years later. And, as they say, the rest is history!
