Downtown Sarasota's 3 New Roundabouts, Will All Open Next Month
The Downtown Sarasota Roundabouts at Fruitville, 10th Street and 14th Street are all expected to be ready for traffic by the beginning of November.
Over the first week of November, both the 10th Street and 14th Street roundabouts will undergo a walk through as the final piece of the construction are completed. Construction costs are estimated at $12.6 million.
The 3rd Downtown Sarasota roundabout, is at the intersection of Fruitville Road and U.S. 41, is expected to be completed in mid-November.

A 4th Roundabout is also headed to downtown Sarasota. Another one will be constructed at Gulfstream Avenue and 41. That is the intersection that leads towards St. Armand's and Lido and Longboat Key's. FDOT is looking to start that project in late January to early February of 202, with a first phase that will not impact the current road, as construction will be off of the actual roadway. Then, after high season, FDOT will start putting up detours and modifications to prepare, work on the road itself. .
