Lakewood Ranch posts record home sales for August 2020
Lakewood Ranch says it had a record-setting 189 sales in August of this year, up from 115 last year..
The 33,000-acre community, which covers parts of both easter Manatee and Sarasota counties, has accounted for 1,197 new home sales through the first eight months of 2020, which tops last year’s pace by 8%.
Sales at all price points have been strong, said Laura Cole, senior vice president for LWR Communities LLC, and the luxury market is performing “extremely well.”
Low mortgage rates continue to drive demand for homes, Demand remains strong from the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic markets, we have seen a sizable uptick in Florida buyers from throughout the state, especially Tampa, Orlando and the east coast,” Cole said.
Demand is growing for multi-generational floor plans.
Some buyers have said COVID-19 accelerated their plans to reestablish roots in an environment that affords a more connected and active lifestyle.
Lakewood Ranch, developed by Schroeder-Manatee Ranch, ranked as the second fastest-selling master-planned community in the nation at midyear, according to a previously released report from real estate consultant RCLCO.
The community, with 41,000 residents, has ranked among the top-selling master-planned communities for nine straight years.
