Kentucky Sheriff's Deputies Help a Mom Deliver a Baby Boy - In Parking Lot

In Kentucky, three sheriff's deputies helped a mother deliver a baby boy -- while in a parking lot.

Deputies Reece Riley, Levi Preston and R. Downs responded to a 911 call just after 2:15 in the morning. The father of the baby directed the deputies to a parking lot, explaining that his wife was in active labor.

As they responded to the scene, Deputy Riley contacted his sister, who works as a nurse at a nearby hospital.

And when the deputies learned that the baby was going to arrive before the parents could make it to the hospital, Deputy Riley stayed on the phone with his sister as she talked him through the process, as Deputies Preston and Downs assisted.

It all worked out. At about 2:37 a.m., the couple in the parking lot were proud parents of a baby boy. Paramedics then showed up and finally took the family to the hospital, where mom and baby are doing well.
