Moving Company Offers Free Services To Anyone Fleeing Domestic Violence

College Hunks Hauling Junk & Moving is a national company and it has a franchise in Sarasota.

As many experts have feared, data is now pointing to an uptick in domestic abuse due to shelter-at-home rules in place during COVID-19

One of the barriers to help victims get away from abuse is being taken down by College Hunks Hauling Junk moving company. They are offering free moving services to anyone fleeing domestic violence. The company is now helping victims as a resource on the national domestic violence hotline and is also working with safe houses, counselors and domestic violence shelters directly in each of the 130 areas through the USA, where it has operations—including Sarasota.

How does it work. The victim simply needs to make contact with a certified domestic violence shelter, which will them approve any victims requesting a move to ensure that the victim is supported throughout their transition—as well as for the safety of the moving team and victim. Anyone in a domestic violence situation should first contact the police or a domestic violence shelter immediately. Then the shelter will contact the moving company at nationalaccounts@CHHJ.com,and the movers will make themselves available and help coordinate.

If they are unable to explicitly inform staff about their abuse, they are advised to use the code word ‘mask 19’ to do so.

If you or someone you know, needs help use the numbers listed above to get them help NOW....
