Palmetto and Bradenton Fourth of July Fireworks Canceled due to COVID-19

Sarasota, Siesta Key and Venice had previously announced all of their annual Fourth of July Firework celebrations had been canceled due to the coronavirus.

The city of Palmetto late yesterday (5/27/20) announced they were canceling their annual Fourth of July event at Sutton Park and the Fireworks, which culminate a day of family fun.

The scheduled headline entertainment was to be, Wynonna & The Big Noise, featuring country star Wynonna Judd. That performance has been rescheduled for July 4, 2021.

“The decision was preemptively made in order to protect event patrons during these uncertain times,” a press release from the city of Palmetto said. “We hope to see everyone at next year’s Fourth Fest Concert.”

This was to have been this event’s 10th year anniversary, which is organized by the Palmetto Community Redevelopment Agency.

The Fourth of July Fireworks display over the Manatee River is how the annual event concludes each year.

However, since the Fourth of July event has been canceled, The City of Palmetto says the fireworks this year, will now be launched over the Labor Day weekend.
