Study - Face-aging App is Increasing Sunscreen Use with Teens by 50%

What has gotten their attention? It is a simple App, that lets them upload selfies and see what they will look like, without protecting their skin, form the sun's harmful rays...

The app, is called Sunface, it allows users to take selfies and then it shows them how their face can age as a result of excessive exposure to ultraviolet light from the sun, or from tanning beds. It is available on both Google Play and Apple's App Store.

We know from research that skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States as well as worldwide. In fact, 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer before they reach 70 years of age, and almost 7,000 will die from melanoma, the most severe form of the disease, this year (2020) alone, this according to the Skin Cancer Foundation.

Years of research suggests to doctors and skin care professionals that not only does tanning damage skin cells, it can also speed up visible signs of aging. Research also suggests that it may also lead to skin cancers.
