All Faiths Food Bank has put together a huge food distribution event at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, to help Sarasota County residents impacted by COVID-19.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 16th. This event is first come, first-served— it will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until 2 p.m. or until food runs out.
All Faiths Food Bank has purchased approximately 10,000 gallons of milk from Dakin Dairy Farms in Myakka City, as well as produce from Florida farmers. To make this event possible they also have the support from Feeding Florida.
The stadium has donated the use of their facilities for the food distributions. The National Guard will also provide on-site assistance in this community mission.
This event is for people who are recently unemployed or impacted by COVID-19.To make things move as smooth as possible during this event, there will be no registration or an approval process, and there will be no collection of personal information on-site.
Social distancing and no-touch processes will be utilized, and food will be distributed via drive-thru and placed directly into the trunks of cars.
Attendees will also receive information about additional food bank locations where groceries are available.
