Gov. DeSantis at Press Event Today May Annouce Hair Salons Can Open Monday

The Reopening Florida Task Force formed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has now suggested also allowing hair salons and barber shops to operate at limited capacity in the first phase of reopening, beginning this Monday, May 4th.

Orange County (Orlando area) Mayor Jerry Demmings and the Orlando area Taskforce on re-opening the state, has been talking with the State re-opening task force, lobbying for Salons/Barber shops, etc... to open for limited capacity in the Phase 1 re-opening plan for Florida.

In his letter, Demings said his request does not include massage parlors.

DeSantis and Demings will hold a press conference at a salon in Winter Garden today (Saturday, May 2nd) at 1pm.

In a letter to the governor that he was requesting hair salons be “permitted to provide services to the public under strict guidelines promulgated by the appropriate state agency.”

In his letter, Mayor Demings said his request does not include massage parlors.
