Florida's... Ocala Drive-In was apparently the only U.S. movie theater to report earning any box office money for the weekend of April 17th, 2020.
That doesn’t mean it's the only one theater open in the country, just that it's one of the few showing new releases and reporting their grosses.
The drive-in screened the World War II mime biopic Resistance and the psychological thriller Swallow.
Each ticket at the drive-in cost $6,
In our area we have the "Ruskin Drive-In", however they are currently closed due to the pandemic... They posted this message on their Facebook page on March 26th 2020...
"After serious thought and consideration for the health and safety of our employees and our customers, we think it is time to stop playing movies so everyone can stay home and let this virus die. Hopefully it will be just a short time until we can get together to enjoy new movies and our great food again. Thank you for all your support. SEE YOU ALL SOON AT THE MOVIES!!!!!!!!"
If you'd like to learn more about them and catch a movie, when they open back up... check out their website and Facebook page below, so you can stay up to date...They are located in Ruskin, just north of Palmetto, on US 41...
