Look Up in the Sky Tonight for the "Pink Super Moon"
The biggest and brightest "supermoon" of 2020 will appear tonight (Tuesday, 4/7/20). The full Super Moon will occur precisely at 10:35 p.m. EDT this evening!
Now, a "supermoon" occurs when the moon is especially close to the Earth while it is full. Also, the closeness to Earth, makes the moon look extra-close and extra-bright – some say the moon will appear approximately up to 15% bigger and about 30% brighter than a typical full moon.
Is it Pink in color? It's not... According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, April’s full moon often corresponded with the early springtime blooms of Phlox subulata, a pink wildflower.
