U.S. Army veteran James Howard suffered a back injury that left him paralyzed. But, he considers the injury “a blessing by misfortune” because it led him to start a charity group called REACHcycles, which helps give children adaptive bikes based on their ability.
The group recently gave 20 brand-new bikes to these kids.
It was a special milestone for James because his group is always raising money. Each bike costs between $400 and $1,200. So seeing all their fundraising efforts being put to good use feels great to everyone involved.
James remembers the joy and appreciation he felt after receiving a similar bike several months after his accident. And now, he’s doing all he can to help others feel the same way.
