The 44th Ave E. Bridge over Braden River is Scheduled to Open in August
Manatee County’s 44th Avenue East Extension project is critical because there are only two east west thoroughfares in the county state Road 64 and State Road 70.
The project has taken a long time, because it is all new construction, through mostly farm lands. After acquiring the land, all infrastructure needed to conducted.
It has been a totally new build, for the most part. There is a section between Creekwood and Morgan Johnson that is a widening of the road but in every other instance the road didn’t exist.
The new 44th Ave., East bridge will open initially, with one lane in each direction… then eventually opening up to four lanes.
The next phase will be building an over pass, to go over I-75, then taking the road further east in Lakewood Ranch and beyond into Manatee County.
