Sarasota and Manatee County Saw Population Explosion Over the Last 3 Years
Over 53,000 people moved to the Sarasota-Manatee area from 2020-22, new census data shows.
The surge in new residents includes, both retirees and workers relocating here.
Sarasota and Manatee counties grew by a combined total of..... 53,611 people from July 2020 to July 2022, according to U.S. Census Bureau population estimates.
The bureau released the 2022 population data for counties in late March 2023..
Sarasota County’s population grew by 26,079 from 2020 to 2022 – a 6% rise, according to census data.
Manatee County’s population rose by a slightly higher number – 27,532 – over the two years, which is a 6.9% increase.
Sarasota and Manatee are the 14th and 15th largest counties by population in the state of Florida, which has 67 total counties statewide.
