FREE Prom Dresses Coming to North Port for Girls Impacted by Hurricane Ian
In South Sarasota County, there are still many blue tarps on roofs and evidence of the damage left by Hurricane Ian. Especially in Englewood and North Port.
The Repairs to North Port High School are mostly complete… however, many staff and students at North Port High School, continue to live with hurricane damage at home.
This is where Hillsborough County school teacher Stephanie Brown wants to help.
She wants to help girls prepare for one of the biggest memories of high school, their Prom.
This week, her “Gowns for Girls” boutique is heading south from Tampa to North Port.
She will set up more than 1,300 new or gently used prom dresses, free to whoever needs one.
It’s her first boutique on the road, and if all goes well, it will be the first of many, across the sunshine state.
Anyone wanting a prom dress is required to have a valid Student ID.
Gowns for Girls will run its operations from 2-8 p.m, this Friday, March 10th and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Saturday, March 11th .
They will be located at the Hampton Inn and Suites at 5664 Tuscola Boulevard in North Port.
