A New Roundabout is Coming to 23rd St. West in Palmetto

FDOT Construction Open House on Tuesday, January 24, for the US 41 (BUS) from 17th Street to Bayshore Roadway Improvement Project located in Palmetto, Manatee County

PALMETTO, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District One will hold an open house on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, to share information on a construction project starting in February on US 41 (BUS) from 17th Street to Bayshore Road. This roadway improvement project includes a roundabout at 23rd Street West in Palmetto, Manatee County. The purpose of this project is to improve traffic flow not only for vehicles but also for pedestrians. The project will also improve the condition of the roadway and drainage.

The Open House will be held at the City of Palmetto City Hall from 5 – 7 p.m., allowing the community to view project exhibits and speak with FDOT staff. The Palmetto City Hall is located at 516 8th Avenue West, Palmetto, FL 34221. For those unable to attend, open house exhibits and materials will be available on the project webpage at www.swflroads.com.
