Manatee County Naming it's Newest Park, After Florida Governor Ron DeSantis
A brand new $3 Million park in Manatee County, just north of Kinnan Elementary School, in Southern Manatee County will be named after current Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Manatee County commissioners will vote on a resolution to officially name the park after the governor at a future meeting.
Commissioners voted 6 to 1 on May 24, 2022 to direct the county attorney to prepare a resolution to officially name the new park after Governor DeSantis.
This resolution must be brought back to the board for final approval at a future meeting to finalize the process, however this week, commissioners indicated they have the votes to make it official.
The new park will be located near Tallevast Road, on the west side of Prospect Road, just north of Kinnan Elementary School
The new park will include the first official dog park in Southern Manatee County's District 4, two pickleball courts, a half-mile fitness trail, an open lawn area, natural wetlands, and public restrooms.
