Longboat Key's Beer Can Island Officially Off Limits to Boaters
The completion of the Emergency Dredging Project near the Bridge that connects Longboat Key to Bradenton Beach is now complete. This means there are New Restricted areas on the north end of Longboat Key that now only allow swimmers, kayakers and paddleboarders.
The town of Longboat Key will be putting out buoys and more signs that state this is not an area for motorized vessels.
These signs will alert boaters to the newly permanent rules, which will only allow swimmers, kayakers and paddleboarders.
