Clark Rd and I-75 Getting a Diverging Diamond, Just Like University Pkwy

Clark Rd and I-75 Getting a Diverging Diamond, Just Like University Pkwy

Clark Rd in Sarasota is Getting a Diverging Diamond. Plus, FDOT is widening I-75 northbound from Clark Road to the Bee Ridge Road interchange and I-75 southbound from Proctor Road to Clark.

The complete transformation and reconstruction of the Clark Rd. and I-75 interchange into a diverging diamond configuration – FDOT says that work is expected to start sometime over the next couple of months, in the late summer or fall of 2022.

. The Florida Department of Transportation is also constructing noise abatement walls on both the east and westbound sides of I-75, between Proctor Road and Clark. The walls will continue onto Clark Road and will end at Catamaran Drive on the west and Queensberry Boulevard on the east.

Construction work will also include making improvements to Clark Road – like constructing bike lanes and installing a new traffic signal at Queensberry Boulevard, which is scheduled to happen in late 2022.

FDOT estimates that the diverging diamond interchange will be open to the public in mid-2023, however, that date is subject to change due to a wide array of factors.

Estimated Construction Cost $62.4 Million
