Longboat Key Visitor Ticketed for Driving & Parking on Beach
A call came into The Longboat Key Police department on Thursday, March 17th at 6:59pm, in regards to a vehicle on the beach. When police arrived they encountered a man visitor who drove an SUV on the beach at the end of North Shore Road.
The man, had a German passport , but also a Florida drivers’ license, which had a Bonita Springs address. During the interaction with the officer, the man said he was not aware parking was prohibited on the beach and did not see signs to that effect.
It was at that point, the officer pointed out signs that say no vehicles are permitted on the beach.
The officer issued the man a parking citation. However, the driver removed the vehicle from the beach without incident.
