Manatee County Approves Rezone for Development by Lake Manatee State Park
On March 3, 2022 Manatee County commissioners voted 6-1 to approve a new rezone request for approximately 310 acres from General Agriculture to Planned Development Residential, near Lake Manatee State Park.
This rezone clears the way for Neal Communities to build a development of 706 residential units and 17,750 square feet of medical facilities.
This rezoned piece of land is north of State Road 64, west of Dam Road and east of Uihlein Road. The rezone will allow for two homes per acre. The project also includes a specific approval to reduce the required front yard setback from 25 to 23 feet for single family detached units with front lenter garages.
