Ringling Bridge in Sarasota Will Be Lit This Week To Support Ukraine
Through the morning of Thursday, March 10, Sarasota's John Ringling Causeway Bridge will be lit in blue and yellow in support of Ukraine.
Blue and yellow, are the colors of Ukraine's flag.
Mayor Erik Arroyo requested the color scheme for the Ringling Bridge to support Ukraine AMID the Russian invasion in a letter sent to the Florida Department of Transportation
The Florida Department of Transportation, District One, has agreed to change the colors of the lights on the Ringling Bridge to meet the City's ongoing requests, assuming the lighting system has the technical capacity to accommodate what they want, for seven days from when the change is made.
