Florida Veteran in Hospice Care, Has Last Wish of a Fishing Trip, Come True

Florida Fish and Wildlife worked together to make a hospice patient’s last wish come true.

Ralph Kroeck, is a retired police officer and Air Force veteran, told his daughter that before he passes, he wants one last fishing trip.

Wish granted

When we found out that a retired police officer and military veteran in hospice wanted one last fishing trip, our law enforcement staff decided to make it an experience for Ralph and his family to remember. Ozello Keys Marina donated their airboat and guides for the experience and after catching spotted seatrout, red drum and sheepshead, Seafood Seller and Cafe prepared lunch with the fish they had caught. As the family ate, Ralph told stories about his past fishing adventures and military days.
