Venice to Change Ordinance Will Now Allow Beer and Wine on Venice Beaches
A change is coming to Venice area beaches. Having a Beer and Wine on Venice Beaches, is going to happen. The Venice City Council approved the first reading of an ordinance legalizing consumption of beer and wine during daylight hours on a 4-1 vote Tuesday., February 8th, 2022
The next step is the Venice City council must vote on a second reading of the ordinance – which also reinforces the prohibition of glass bottles at the beach – at the next meeting, February. 22nd.
When this change happens and is approved. It will also allow the Pilot House snack bar at the Venice Beach Pavilion and Jetty Jack’s snack bar at Humphris Park to sell beer and wine.
The consumption of alcohol is permitted on all other beaches in Sarasota County.
