The three contestants who competed on Monday's episode ofJeopardy!stunned viewers when it turned out none of them could recognize American treasure Tom Hanks. After one contestant chose the easy $200 question in a category called "Biopics," Alex Trebek said, "InA Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, beloved children's TV show host Mister Rogers is played by this beloved actor." The clue was even accompanied by video footage of Hanks in character as Rogers, but nobody rang their buzzer in time to field a guess. "The film opens Friday. That's Tom Hanks," Trebek then informed the players. AJeopardy!fan account later explained on Twitter, "Audience members reported that the lights that tell contestants they're allowed to signal did not activate." However, some folks still think the snafu was unforgivable. As one viewer tweeted, "Last night onJeopardy!, nobody knew who Tom Hanks was and my already dwindling faith in humanity took another huge hit."
