Football Team Makes Boy With Cerebral Palsy Honorary Captain

A kids’ football team in Illinois is showing what sportsmanship is really all about.

The Grant Jr. Bulldogs youth football team in Fox Lake, Illinois made seven-year-old Bryson Jenkins, who is nonverbal and has cerebral palsy, an official part of their team and let him be honorary captain for the day.

Bryson’s mom, Brittany, says her son got to wear a custom team jersey and he got to go through the banner with the team as they entered the field.

He got to do the coin toss and watch the game with his family from the sidelines. But the best part? With 46-seconds on the clock, the team called Bryson’s number and with help from his father, Michael, he scored a touchdown. As you can imagine, the crowd went wild.

“It brought me to tears more than one time that day,” the proud mom says.
